(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 Thamud, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
