Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
