Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
