Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
