Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
