Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
