Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 Thamud, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
