The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
