The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He has created man: 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
