The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25
