The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
