The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
