The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
