The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
