The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man, 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
