The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
