The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 You will become three categories: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the right. 38
