The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And couches raised up. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
