The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And water poured out 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And have made them virgins. 36 chastely amorous, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
