▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A numerous company from among the first, 39 and many from the later generations. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water, 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 Neither cool nor honorable. 44 They were endowed with good things 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 Will all be brought together to the tryst of an appointed day. 50 and then, verily, O you who have gone astray and called the truth a lie, 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 lapping it down like thirsty camels.' 55 This is their entertainment on the day of requital. 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Just consider (the semen) that you emit, 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 We have ordained death among you and We are not to be overcome, 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out. 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
