A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 They will find themselves in scorching wind and scalding water, 42 And in the shades of Black Smoke: 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 and persisted in the great sin 46 And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again, 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 “They will all be gathered together – on the appointed time of the known day.” 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! 56 It is We Who created you, so why do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Do you make a human out of it, or is it We Who create? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 Have you seen what you sow? 63 Is it you or We Who make them grow? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike (and get by friction). 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it as a reminder and convenience for the needy. 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74
