Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 Who created the seven heavens one above another; you see no incongruity in the creation of the Beneficent Allah; then look again, can you see any disorder? 3 Then turn your vision again, and then again; in the end your vision will come back to you, worn out and frustrated. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them a means to drive away the satans. We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blazing Fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord is the punishment of hell, and evil is the resort. 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 And keep your opinion secret or proclaim it, lo! He is Knower of all that is in the breasts (of men). 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
