Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In an elevated garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
