Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in an exalted garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 I am bereft of power." 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
