Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 nor any food save the filth 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
