Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and had not known my account. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 "My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!" 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
