Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
