Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 So they began to think, even as you do, that God would not resurrect any one. 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
