The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 and purify your robes, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
