▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until death approached us". 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
