No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
