Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
