I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
