Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 It is surely one of the greater, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 "Till death overcame us." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
