Nay, by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
