Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
