Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
