Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
