Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
