Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
