Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
