Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
