Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
