By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
