Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
