Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the loosed ones successively 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
