Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 until an appointed time? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
