Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 storming tempestuously 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
