Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
