Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 and the severally severing 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 40
